About Gems

What is there to say about me?

I haven't always been a full-time writer and blogger about fashion and style. Although it may seem hard to believe, I once spent my days in the confines of a laboratory in the exhilarating world of scientific research at quite a prestigious university. When research funding ran out, I never believed that I would get over my first love of the sciences, but then I found fashion. It is a story worthy of a Hollywood movie - I think Zooey Deschanel would play me; she is quirky, weird and her eyes are way too big for her face, just like me.

Anyway I digress, I'm a girl who likes her fashion like she likes her steak, well-done and just a little bit touch. Here on Fashion, Well Done, I will be blogging about all the fashion and style that catches my eye, and you never know there might even be a little bit of street style and personal fashion in there too.

If you want to get in touch all my details can be found on my contact page...I would love to hear from you :)

  1. I love you Gems! You are such an amazing inspiration, you really are. Absolutely love the story of how you fell for fashion, such a shame regarding the research funding but thank goodness the silver lining came in the form of a beautiful blog like this! I hope you know just how treasured and loved you are in the blogosphere, and I'm really so glad we met, you mean so much to me <3

    1. Aww Sophie, that has really made my day, I nearly burst into tears in my boyfriends office (where I work sometimes when the home office gts boring). I love you too, you're like a kindred spirit to me and I find a lot of my strength in you because you really push yourself to do the things that scare you and it makes me want to do the same. I'm so glad we met too, it's a friendship more real than a lot of my past ones, and that means so much to me :)

  2. Know how you feel sort of with the research thing... I considered following that route because people sort of expected you too when you get a science degree, but going into business was my best decision ever. xx

  3. Just discovered your blog and I'm a massive fan! I'm also a fashion-loving scientist, I'm in research for the time being but I'm hoping that one day I will be a writer too and hang up the lab coat! Looking forward to catching up on your posts!
